Make a Fascinator with Anél Heyman

 

Create a headpiece from scratch without the need for a hat block or any special tools. You will create a free-shaped piece using sinamay straw in the colour of your choice. Being free-shaped, no two pieces will ever look the same and this is a great style that suits many face shapes. This headpiece looks equally beautiful with a simple trim or with more elaborate trimmings. Make it your own and style it however you like!

Class cost: $125

What to bring: Paper scissors, thread snippers, apron, straw sewing needle, measuring tape, pins, thimble, clips / pegs, sewer’s ruler (if you have one) otherwise a regular ruler, 450 glue.

Resin Pouring – Sea Scene with Glen Wardle and Rick Jensen

 

Learn how to make your own ocean scene wall art masterpiece and coasters. You will get to play with a variety of beautiful colours and personalise your artwork to reflect your individual style. We will show you the tricks and tips from adding seashells / sand to resin and mixing pigments to pouring techniques—no need to stress.

Class cost: $95

What to bring: Wear old clothes and enclosed shoes.

Skill level – suits all, you must be over 18 years of age.

It takes 24 hours for the resin to set, so items can be picked up the next day from Glen Wardle Ceramics studio at Carina.

Embroidered Journal Cover with Jennifer Clouston

 

Bring the beauty of your work into your everyday by creating an embroidered journal cover with Japanese yarn dyed-fabric, and linen.

In this special all-day class, you will learn how to take traditional embroidery stitches and give them a modern twist to create texture and dimension.

Working with threads, silk ribbon and a sprinkling of beads this workshop is ideal for those who wish to add embroidery to all future projects.
