Block Printing on Fabric with Handmade Foam Stamps with Rowan Sivyer

Block printing your own fabric can be as simple as cutting, sticking and printing! Making your own foam stamps is easy, fun and instantly gratifying! We will create our own interesting foam stamping plates before using them to print them with bright screen printing inks. Rowan will offer tips on fabric printing and discuss techniques relating to repeat patterns and overprinting.

Make your mark with hand-carved stamps! In this class, you will learn to design, carve and print your own unique motifs using soft-carve rubber. Printmaker and author, Rowan Sivyer of Little Rowan Redhead, will show you just how easy, fun and addictive stamp-carving can be. You will use your stamps to print cards and gift tags but you can take these same techniques and go on to print fabric, clay or wood!

Sewing Notion Wreath with Dawn Moloney

Make something truly special – a unique wreath packed full of new and old sewing paraphernalia. You will gain insight into proportions, depth and colour.
The wreath is made on an 20cm [8in] diameter prepared base covered with sewing patterns and the finished size is about 25cm [10in]. A hot glue gun will be used in class, so a degree of caution must be used, class not suitable for children.
Kit includes all you need to make your unique wreath, including vintage wooden cotton reels, pinwheels, thimbles, bobbins, sewing tools, vintage snap fasteners and more. If you have something special you would like to include, please bring it along!

Introduction to Brush Lettering with Alena Tsarkova

Learn brush lettering & the basic strokes – including thin and thick strokes, overturn and underturn, two combinations, circle and few extra strokes). We will put together the basic strokes into the words ‘minimum’ and ‘maximum’ and cover the tricky letters of the alphabet. Alena will then guide you on how to beautifully letter your name or another word of your choice.
Kit includes a workbook with the workshop content, set of brush markers and paper to practice on during the class

Professional Lampshade Making with Dawn Moloney

Learn tips and tricks of the trade from a professional lampshade maker and create a quality drum lampshade 30cm in diameter and 25cm high. A drum lampshade is straight sided and the same diameter at the top and bottom.
You will learn all the skills to make professional quality lampshades using a kit specifically hand cut for you.
Hand-cut kit and a full set of colour instructions supplied.

Learn how to create your own small piece that can be used as a decorative wall-hanging, placemat, or sewn into a bag or cushion. Learn the techniques required to make use of all those fabric scraps at home with this portable craft.

Resin Jewellery with Nadine Sharpe

Learn the art of resin casting using fast curing resin, choosing from an extensive range of Own Sweet Time’s silicone moulds to cast two bangles and two rings. Basic casting techniques are covered in the first cast, and more creative techniques covered in the second cast, within the limitations of fast curing resin. Hand sanding and finishing techniques are covered, giving you the ability to beautifully finish pieces.

Watercolour Painting Class: Washing Line with Pamela Woods, presented by ClassBento

Paint a laundry line of colourful clothes in this light-hearted class, we will create fun line drawings of t-shirts, dresses and shirts and then paint them with classic watercolour techniques. This is a fun way to learn about wet on wet washes, wet on dry gradient washes and take the stress out of learning for absolute beginners.
At the end of the session you will have some super cute postcard sized pictures to frame and enjoy.
We will be using watercolour paints, watercolour paper and everything you need will be provided in this workshop, brushes, palettes and pencils.
