The 2018 Sydney Quilt Show is a festival of creativity and
community, presented by QuiltNSW.
The show is arguably the biggest quilt show in the southern
hemisphere and this year’s show will feature 400+ quilts made
exclusively by QuiltNSW members. QuiltNSW is a member
organisation embracing traditional, contemporary, pictorial,
art and modern quilts, run by an enthusiastic community of
volunteers, promoting the art of patchwork and quilting.
The 2018 theme is ‘Southern Stars’. There will be a handson
quilt making area for all ages creating quilts for Street
Hearts, a QuiltNSW members’ hoop display and a raffle with
proceeds funding programs such as scholarship and country
tutor programs. Also, the ‘Remember’ QuiltNSW Suitcase
Challenge, displaying 45 quilts will be on display too.
Also this year are special exhibits from Bob James
and Anna Brown with floor talks. The Awards Ceremony will take place at 1pm on Wednesday, June 20, with the Best of Show announcement.
