Exquisite Embroidery from France
Meet Cecile in her embroidery ‘studio’ – Wednesday to Saturday at the fair
Embroiderer and quilter, creator of exquisite textile pieces and divine stitches, Cécile Franconie, will be our special guest at the fair.
Cécile’s needlework pieces are exquisite combinations of treasured fabric pieces, slivers of silks, linens and prints, snippets of ribbon and exotic threads, layered with a confection of stitches and beads. Details such as crocheted edgings and beaded tassels provide perfect finishing touches.
The overall results demand closer inspection – the unexpected combinations are an absolute delight to anyone with a love of textiles and are sure to inspire you to think differently.
Meet Cécile and enjoy an exhibition of her work – hand embroidered bags, needlebooks, many small items as well as some wonderful quilts. See more about Cécile on her blog at www.facilececile.com
Cécile will teach one class only on Sunday June 26, an all-day class where she will share her charming style and clever techniques. UPDATE: Class now sold out.
If you love embroidery and stitching, don’t miss this!
Cecile’s latest book Les Fantaisies quiltées and brodées, will be available at the QuiltMania, Stand J70 at the fair.
