BE INSPIRED BY WONDERFUL WORK ON SHOW!
The spectacular Sydney Quilt Show by QuiltNSW will feature more than 400 members’ quilts, floortalks by Rhonda Pearce and Carolyn Sullivan; Repurposed, Recycled, Reloved Challenge with furniture items recycled using patchwork and textiles. There’ll also be an activity centre with hands-on quiltmaking for everyone of all ages and genders, and a new display of hoop showcasing a diverse array of quilt styles.
The Best of Australia Quilts – is a spectacular display of the eight best of show works from each state quilt show in 2016.

♥ Guest artist: UK knit and crochet designer, Kerry Lord, designer and author of Edward’s Menagerie and Edward’s Imaginarium. Kerry’s books Edward’s Menagerie and Edward’s Imaginarium have been a huge success around the world with wonderful characters to make with just a ball of yarn. ‘Get ready to spend time with a suave high-flying rhino, a lovesick elephant who knows her way around a kitchen, and a seriously chivalrous tiger…’
♥ Magical Creatures will be the theme of the ATASDA display. Their ‘Meet the Artist’ activity will include felt maker extraordinaire Rae Woolnough and textile artist Margaret Millar who loves felting and mixed media, hand dyeing, printing and silkscreening, plus other members who will share their talent with visitors to the fair.
♥ Patches at Work will be the theme of Cavalcade of Fashion’s display. Vintage patchwork clothing, accessories and homewares will feature including an 1880s crazy quilt and a quilt made of 1950s dress fabrics.
♥ Decorative art by the FDAA will focus on Christmas themed works to paint and sale of member’s artworks. Pick up a bargain from their sale table.
♥ The NSW Embroiderer’s Guild will present an artistic installation of embroidered works by members.
♥ Lino-cut printing and dyeing plus stitching and embellishment will feature in the collaborative exhibition initiated by Dijanne Cevaal with the theme of the Aussie Bush Project.
