The Folk & Decorative Artists’ Association will be showcasing their art of decorative painting at the fair. Meet the artists, see their work, buy something special or join a fun one-hour daily Paint ‘n Take class!

11am: Daisy on Mason Jar

Beginners welcome (16 years and older)!

Mason jars are all the rage – for home pantry storage, gift giving, salads for work, crafts and home projects galore. Trendy café shops are using Mason jars to serve all manner of delicious beverages to their customers. Come and learn some simple painting techniques using chalk and acrylic paint, to enhance a plain glass Mason jar with a simple stencilled daisy. Chalk paint is all the rage – no prep,ATASDA_and_FDAA_17 cover any surface – chalk paint has revolutionised the way home renovators transform and recycle furniture & home décor. No experience required; the FDAA teachers will guide you step by step through the project.

1pm: Scarf Clip/Hair Barrette

Dress up your favourite winter scarf or crown your locks with this Zentangle inspired scarf clip or hair barrette.

This vibrant project is low on stress, but great on effect. You will complete two clips & learn some basic painting techniques using acrylic paints & mediums.

Don’t have long hair or wear a scarf, gift it on to a niece or friend who has long hair or a passion for the glorious scarves. Better still this design could easily be adapted to a blank brooch.
