Presented by the Cavalcade of History and Fashion
Do you remember the mini-skirt, go go boots, baby doll cocktail dresses, pantsuits, bold geometric prints, coloured tights, pill box hats and beehive hairdos? Take a trip down memory lane and revisit the fashions and colours of the 1960s with The Cavalcade of History and Fashion display at the fair.
Join Helen Parsons for a floortalk on each day at 11.30am and 2.30pm
Bring your 60s photos to the fair!
Be Part of our 60s Memory Collage Wall: We invite visitors to share their 60s memories by bringing in copies or printouts of their own 60s photographs to tape onto our Collage Wall. Go-go on – we’d love to see those hot pants, hairstyles and psychedelic prints that you were wearing. By the end of the fair, we’re hoping to create a entire wall of wonderful images from this amazing era.
Printouts and copies of photographs are all ok; do not bring originals as the images will not be returned.
The Cavalcade of History and Fashion is a collection of historic gowns and accessories. The collection, dating from the late 1700s, has been used by its custodians, a volunteer not-for-profit community group, to share Australia’s social and fashion history for over 50 years. We share this history with community audiences at historical, educational and public charitable events and exhibitions in city and regional areas.
