Highlights of the quilt
show include the WAQA Contemporary Quilters’ annual challenge – this year’s theme is ‘Maps’ – and 25 quilts from Perth’s sister city, Kagoshima, Japan.
A glorious display of works by guest judge, Kathy Doughty will also be on show together with members’ quilts made from some of her workshops.
The WAQA Hexagon Group will have a display and Sit N Sew demonstrations will be happening in the QuiltWest area at the fair and you can try some stitching too!
First prize in the raffle is the spectacular quilt ‘Infinity’ (detail pictured right), made by Jenni Anning and some of the QuiltWest committee, and quilted by Jan Fozard.
Designed by Jacqueline de Jong, the quilt is valued at $6,500, with proceeds going to Breast Care WA.
