Paint Your Own Ceramic Jewellery with Bonnie Hislop


1.30pm to 3.30pm – Ceramic Jewellery Painting

Paint with homewares and accessories creator Bonnie Hislop. In this class you will create your own design on either a pair of ceramic earrings or a set of two brooches, with a selection of different shapes to choose from. You will learn the fundamentals of illustration on ceramics and gain an understanding of ceramic paints (underglazes) and various surface decoration techniques. This class will give you the fundamentals of painting ceramic jewellery and give you the skills to practice at home.

Workshop Includes: Ceramic underglazes, paint brushes, paint palettes, blank jewellery pieces handmade by Bonnie, and glazing and firing surface.

Students Bring:
Just yourself and ideas for your pieces. The
ceramic pieces will need to be fired up at Bonnie’s studio for pick
up 2 weeks after the fair. For those who live out of Brisbane please
bring a self-addressed paid padded envelope or box with you to
the class.


PLEASE NOTE: Workshop is available for visitors to the fair. Class fee does not include the fair entry ticket which must be purchased separately.

Meet Bonnie Hislop

Bonnie Hislop is a Queensland based creative with a particular focus on ceramics.

From her Brisbane studio she creates homewares and accessories that are hand built and meticulously painted with bright colours and intricate line detail. As a self-confessed accidental cat lady, Bonnie’s ceramic practice has evolved from a small range of kitty (and occasionally dog) vessels to include an ever expanding array of wares.

Bonnie also facilitates regular ceramic illustration workshops around Queensland.
