Rag Rugs with Naomi from The Sewloist
10am to 12noon & 1.30pm to 3.30pm
Join Naomi Huntsman from The Sewloist to learn the technique of making Rag Rugs from up-cycled fabric and remnants. Using only a safety pin and strips of fabric, you will make the beginnings of a rag rug.
A selection of fabrics will be provided, however you are encouraged to bring your own lightweight woven cottons that can be torn into strips. The process will take more than the allocated two hours; you will finish your rag rug at home.
Workshop Includes: Tuition plus a selection of fabrics and tools to work with during the two hour workshop, take home notes, and the beginnings of your rag rug.

Meet Naomi Huntsman
Naomi is a Brisbane-based designer who spends much time in her West End Studio designing and making for her creative business, The Sewloist. Having worked in fashion for many years, Naomi has become a passionate advocate for sustainable practice within the clothing and textiles industry. She loves encouraging people’s self-expression through creativity and is a big believer in making personal connections to our garments and belongings so as to value them more. Naomi is launching her Women’s Wear and Homewares range this summer.
