Exquisite Silk Embroidered Roses

This project is ideal for the beginner or intermediate embroiderer. Learn to master the stitches and techniques and create perfect silk ribbon roses using delicate hand dyed and plain dyed silk ribbons; be taught by one of the world’s leading exponents of this delicate needle art. Kit includes fabric, needles, ribbons, threads and extensive notes. Students will also have the use of an embroidery hoop and scissors in class.
Requirements: Bring reading glasses if required.

Freeform Experimentation 
Tutor: Prudence Mapstone, Stand C25

Experiment with a range of different stitches and techniques that will get you started with exciting freeform knitting and crochet. Learn lots of tips and tricks that will help you turn your experiments into works of wearable art. The kit will include a selection of specialty yarns in your colour choice, plus comprehensive notes to get you ‘freeforming’. Knowledge of basic knit and crochet stitches is required.
Requirements: Bring a range of knitting needles and crochet hooks in different sizes (approx 3.5 to 4.5mm) and a pair of scissors.

Walk on the Wild Side

Work on a small size Giraffe, Elephant, Rhinoceros or Zebra wall quilt (choose design at time of booking) in this totally stress free class designed for all quilting levels – beginners especially welcome. Learn lots of quilting hints and tips while you work at your own pace; be taken through the process hands on, step-by-step, to produce a striking wild animal quilt top. Kit includes pattern, self sticking repositionable appliqué web or new ‘no sew’ appliqué sheets, background fabric and hand dyed fabrics to use and keep.
Requirements: A materials list (general sewing tools – scissors, pins, iron, etc) will be emailed with your booking confirmation.
