Texstyle is an exhibition of Major Textile Projects from the 2008 NSW Higher School Certificate, organised by a group of volunteer teachers from the Technology Educators Association (TEA) working in partnership with the Board of Studies. The Textiles and Design students have been assessed in five focus areas for the syllabus: apparel, furnishings, costume, textile arts and non-apparel.

At the Canberra Craft & Quilt Fair you will see 20 of the most impressive and inspirational of these projects. These amazing works show the high standard of creativity and skill being developed in our next generation of textile artists, and pay homage to the hard work and dedication of our state’s teachers.

Student & Teacher Seminars
The TEA will host teacher and student seminars at the fair. An entry ticket to the fair is required and seminar places are limited, so pre-booking is essential.

YEAR 11 STUDENT SEMINARS focusing on – What makes a successful MTP; finding inspiration; requirements of the MTP:
• Thursday & Friday (August 6 & 7)
• 10.15am & 12.15pm daily daily (each seminar is approximately 75 minutes)
• Cost $8 per student for TEA member schools, $12 per student
for non-member schools (no charge for teachers). Fair entry ticket must also be purchased.

TEACHER SEMINAR focusing on – The MTP and maximising HSC student results:
• Saturday, August 8, 10.15am to 12.45pm
• Cost is $15 per person plus fair entry ticket.
