Join expert tutors for an in-depth, hands-on afternoon Craft Class at the fair.

To secure your place:

  • Enquire, book and pay before the fair directly with the tutor; OR book and pay at the tutor’s stand at the fair (subject to availability). Limited places - advance booking recommended.
  • Booking details, class fees and class requirements are listed under the descriptions following.

Freeform Experimentation
                                                               
Tutor: Prudence Mapstone, Stand F15
When: 4pm to 7pm, Wednesday, October 21
Fee: $75
Class location: Creative Zone classroom 2
Experiment with a range of different stitches and techniques that will get you started with exciting freeform knitting and crochet. Learn lots of tips and tricks that will help you turn your experiments into works of wearable art. The kit will include a selection of specialty yarns in your colour choice, plus comprehensive notes to get you ‘freeforming’. Knowledge of basic knit and crochet stitches is required.
Requirements: Bring a range of knitting needles and crochet hooks in different sizes (approx 3.5 to 4.5mm) and a pair of scissors.

Walk on the Wild Side                                                  
Tutor: Susan Filer, The Pattern Place, Stand C16
When: 4pm to 7pm, Wednesday, October 21

Class location: Craft Circle 2
Work on a small size Giraffe, Elephant, Rhinoceros or Zebra wall quilt (choose design at time of booking) in this totally stress free class designed for all quilting levels – beginners especially welcome. Learn lots of quilting hints and tips while you work at your own pace; be taken through the process hands on, step-by-step, to produce a striking wild animal quilt top. Kit includes pattern, self sticking repositionable appliqué web or new ‘no sew’ appliqué sheets, background fabric and hand dyed fabrics to use and keep.
Requirements: A materials list (general sewing tools – scissors, pins, iron, etc) will be emailed with your booking confirmation.

Silver Smithing Class

Ribbon Embroidery Master Class
Tutor: Helen Dafter, Helen Dafter Embroidery & Design, Stand B16

An indulgent opportunity to spend a fun filled three hours learning the fascinating art of ribbon embroidery. Helen Dafter is one of the world's leading exponents of this delicate needle art. You will create a collection of flower samplers with each sampler featuring unique stitches. No experience is necessary and the full kit will be provided along with the use in class of an embroidery hoop and scissors.

Fused Glass
