Silver anniversary exhibition from the Quilters' Guild of South Australia Inc. The 2009 Festival of Quilts celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Quilters Guild of SA Inc. In honour of this momentous occasion a 'Blessing of the Quilts' will be conducted at the fair on Friday November 6 at 2pm by the Assistant Bishop of Adelaide, Rt Revd Dr Stephen Pickard. Dr Pickard is the proud owner of a quilted cope (ceremonial robe) made by Helen Godden, an internationally award winning quilter from the ACT. More than 250 quilts will be on show and competition categories will include: Traditional Quilts, the Popular and Innovative Art Quilts, Junior Members, Miniature and Pictorial Quilts - which this year have been split into Amateur and Professional categories. Judges this year are Judy Hooworth, Mary Heard and Julie Abbott. The exhibition will also include several special displays:

The Quilters' Guild of South Australia Inc wishes to congratulate all past and present guild committees for their work over the last 25 years, bringing quilters throughout South Australia together. During that time the guild has grown to include more than 550 individual guild members and over 100 affiliated groups.
